Pictures with Potoroos and a cat trap
<b>Cat Traps</b>
This is a picture of a standard cat trap with a Potoroo captured, calm and with a friend waiting on the top of the trap. Due to design considerations, this trap is completely non injurous to the animal whilst affording effective protection from predators. This photo was sent in by one of the DEC's in Victoria and shows how monitoring the health and population of our native fauna is a vital part of conservation. As with all the various government land management departments around Australia, eradicating introduced species from our landscape whilst protecting our native species is of the most fundamental importance if we are to keep our unique biodiversity.
